Support your local broadband campaign.
In July 2002, BT introduced a pre-registration scheme to gauge demand
for broadband internet access in non-adsl areas. Some exchanges have been
set 'trigger levels' which have to be reached before BT will upgrade the
exchange. Unfortunately, some exchanges have been deemed by BT as unviable and have not been given a trigger level.
In light of the BT's pre-registration scheme, many broadband campaigns have been
formed by local residents with a view to gaining sufficient interest in broadband.
The following are links to some of the local broadband campaigns
which are running up and down the country. If your exchange is listed
and you have not already registered, please visit your local broadbandcampaign
web site, where you will find out more about the broadband campaign in
your area and details of how you can register your interest.
